You can now pre-order the beyond gorgeous new stirrups from Samshield – the Shield’Rup. Passionate about technology and innovation, Samshield wanted to design a stirrup which brings a real evolution in terms of safety, technicality, comfort, performance and not forgetting design.
When creating the Shield’Rup, Samshield’s mission was to construct a stirrup combining all the crucial qualities of safety stirrups, but at the same time maintaining the flawless design features Samshield is known and loved for. After years and years of development and research, the Shield’Rup is the result of the fusion of these fundamental elements, wrapped in a stunning innovative design, which you’re bound to fall completely in love with.
The Samshield stirrups have a lateral branch that opens as the result of pressure if you fall off. It is designed on a cable and spring system that allows the outer branch of the stirrups to open 180 degrees and can quickly and easily be returned to its original position. This reduces the chances of your foot becoming caught in the stirrup, and also allows you to re-mount straight away.
The stirrups are made from aeronautical aluminium with a steel insert – making them extraordinarily strong. This ensures that they have a high level of resistance, even when the outer branch is open. They have an inclined tread that slopes slightly backwards - this helps to keep your legs in the correct position with your heels down for the most favourable stability and support. Whilst the high grip tread with spikes help to keep your feet in the perfect position.
Do you suffer from joint pain when riding? The elastomer seal under the tread in these stirrups provides excellent shock absorption for improved comfort, balance and to help protect the rider's joints. They are even designed to help you regain a lost stirrup quickly, as the eye for the leathers is slightly twisted, thus helping the stirrup stay in the correct position so your foot can find it again.
