This combination hackamore has a soft, flexible ported mouthpiece, which is pleasant in the horse's mouth yet has a steel core for safety.
MULLEN MOUTHPIECE
This bit fits the horse's mouth anatomically so it sits in the perfect position.
The 18mm diameter mullen mouthpiece is a very mild mouthpiece that puts pressure on the tongue and lips, as well as slight pressure on the bars depending on the size of the horse's tongue.
This bit is often useful for horses with a very soft mouth who don't like complicated mouthpieces. It can also be helpful for horses who back off the contact and need extra confidence in the bit.
TANDEM BIT
Sometimes referred to as a combination hackamore, the tandem bit distributes pressure between the nose, lower jaw and poll. When the rein pressure is increased, so is the pressure on the bars of the mouth, giving yet another point of control.
This bit is often suitable for horses that are very sensitive in the mouth, yet become uncontrollable in a hackamore. Tandem bits give better control of speed and direction, and more continuity in the contact.
The Beris Mullen Tandem Bit is available in 13cm or 14cm with a soft or a hard mouthpiece.
