The Sprenger Max Control Pelham (previously known as the Danger bit) is a unique double action locking design which looks similar to other double-jointed bits.
However, it is designed to be a correction or training bit that locks at a certain angle and thus becomes a straight bar.
This means that the bit acts like a normal mouthpiece when the horse is working correctly, but if the horse comes against the rider's hand the more intensive locking effect occurs. This is immediately released once the horse accepts the bit again, so the horse quickly learns that it is more comfortable to stay in the correct outline.
This 'baby' pelham design has 4in total length cheekpieces.
Available in a 16mm mouthpiece, in sizes 12.5cm, 13.5cm or 14.5cm.
