A controller headcollar solves the problem of handling strong young horses, or for safe handling of stallions. The large metal ring goes around the nose, and the lead rope clips onto the back.
The advantage of a controller headcollar over a chifney is that there is no contact with the horse's mouth, thus the risk of mouth damage associated with a chifney can be avoided.
