The Kentucky Hurricane Turnout Rug is the ultimate lightweight turnout rug for extreme weather, thanks to its unique waterproof coating.
It has been specially developed to ensure that your horse remains dry, even in the heaviest showers. It is therefore ideal for horses that live out 24/7, but is equally suitable for horses on daily turnout.
The rug is very resistant to tearing or scraping and stays 100% waterproof without the need for reproofing.
The wind- and water-proofness is ensured by a PU outer coating, which is the same as that used for yellow fisherman's jackets, not currently used anywhere else in the equestrian market.
The rug is lined with artificial rabbit fur, which is very soft and cosy against your horse's skin and helps to prevent rubbing marks. It also gives your horse a shiny coat and avoids a damp feeling on the underneath of the rug.
The Hurricane Rug features two classic front closures, two cross-surcingles and a removable plastic-covered bungee cord.
It is finished with brown artificial leather trims and brass-coloured fitting for a stylish appearance, even on rainy days.
The rug is anatomically shaped for a comfortable fit, while the texture of the faux rabbit fur means that the rug moves automatically back into place after your horse has rolled or laid down.
An additional tail flap provides extra protection against cold and wet weather.

The Hurricane Rug can be machine washed at 30 degrees, or simply hosed or sponged down, and left to air dry afterwards. It does not require reproofing as washing does not affect the waterproofness of the rug.
