The ultra-cosy Kentucky Skin Friendly Under Rug has 300g fibre fill and is lined with artificial rabbit fur to help prevent rubbing.
It is perfect for horses with sensitive skin or clipped horses, as the faux rabbit fur is extremely comfortable and glides over the horse's coat, leaving it shiny and preventing friction.
This under rug is easily combined with outer rugs to provide extra warmth, and can be used with either stable or turnout rugs as an insulating extra layer.
The outer is made from polyester microfibre with a sanded yarn to create a soft cotton touch that sits comfortably under an outer rug.
The 300g heavyweight synthetic has the same advantages as down, but does not absorb smell, is easier to wash and quicker to dry.
The under rug is designed to sit a little shorter horizontally down the horse's belly than outer rugs, so won't absorb any moisture when the horse rolls or lies down in the field or stable.
It is anatomically shaped for a comfortable fit, while the faux rabbit fur lining helps it glide back into the correct position after the horse rolls.
It is secured with a single front closure with Velcro underneath, while two D-rings at the back allow the outer rug's tail cord to be double-clipped through the under rug as well.
Kentucky recommend washing the under rug once a month at 30 degrees. Do not tumble dry.
