Equestrian innovators Kentucky Horsewear have developed the Bamboo Tendon Boots Elastic to combine high levels of leg protection and sustainability.
The strike zones contain bamboo shield inserts that cover the tendon area. This ensures optimum protection against impact and penetration of sharp objects and is also anti-bacterial.
Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world and has enormous tensile strength, thus making it the ideal solution for offering sustainable protection in horse jumping boots.
The boots are made from a strong TPU shell with multiple ventilation holes at the tendon area, and larger triangle mesh ventilation ducts at the top and bottom of this delicate area to help prevent overheating of the soft tissues within the horse's lower leg.
The top of the boot contains a soft natural rubber piece to allow the knee to flex as the horse moves, avoiding any friction in this area.
The inner part of the boots is reinforced with an extra layer of TPU to sustain high abrasion, whie the boots are lined with Kentucky's well known 3D Spacer fabric that is soft yet durable, breathable and impact-absorbing.
These tendon boots feature an anatomically shaped design so the boots fit comfortably around the horse's leg for maximum freedom of movement and protection.
Kentucky created their own in-house testing machine when developing these boots. It creates a force of 80N falling down on a horizontal horse leg with a razor-sharp axe. The Bamboo Tendon Boots withstand this extreme testing method that can't be compared with any real impact while riding.
The boots are also Rico test approved and RCT certified.
Machine washable at 30 degrees, do not tumble dry. Kentucky recommend the use of a washing bag to avoid scratches.
The Kentucky Bamboo Tendon Boots Elastic are available in Black, in sizes Small (Pony), Medium (Full) or Large (Extra Full).
