The Cryochaps Absolute Wraps are smaller versions of the best-selling Cryochaps - designed to be used on the pastern, knee or hock areas.
They contain the same cooling gel and compression technology as Cryochaps, but allow you to target those areas that are tricky to cover with standard ice boots.
Cryochaps Absolute Wraps are ideal for cooling your horse's legs quickly and effectively after exercise, or as part of the injury recovery process.
Cryochaps have been designed to help with rehabilitation after injury and return to work, and also to assist with recovery and injury prevention as part of the after-work cool-down process.
HOW THEY WORK
Cryochaps Absolute Wraps use a combination of icing and compression to reduce heat and inflammation in your horse's legs.
They quickly cool surface leg temperatures, using the theory that it helps to combat the micro trauma (small tears) in tissues and resultant soreness caused by intense or repetitive exercise.
The cold therapy constricts blood vessels, flushes waste products and reduces swelling and tissue breakdown. Subsequently, as the tissue warms and increased blood flow speeds circulation, the healing process is jump-started.
The inner section is filled with non-toxic gel, that can be frozen in 24 hours (they are designed to be left in the freezer permanently). It will not freeze to the leg and is simple to wash off to keep clean.
The stretch neoprene outer straps provide compression and allows them to comfortably fit a range of leg shapes and areas.
HOW TO APPLY
Cryochaps Absolute Wraps are easy to apply straight from the freezer, and mould to the horse's legs to provide great coverage with optimal freedom of movement.
To prepare, lay them flat in the freezer and freeze for at least 24 hours.
The wrap-around design provides a secure fit on pasterns, knees and hocks.
Wet the leg before using the Cryochaps Absolute Wraps, and apply immediately after exercise for 10-15 minutes to benefit from the cold therapy. It is advised to seek advice from your vet before using Cryochaps post-injury. Do not place directly on open wounds, or use for longer than 20 minutes.
