The Helite Saddle Strap makes it simple to keep multiple saddles set up for use with your Helite airbag.
While one saddle strap is supplied with every Helite air vest, having an additional strap fitted to each saddle means you can switch saddles without having to move the strap each time.
The saddle strap connects the key ball lanyard on your Helite air vest to the saddle and is highly adjustable to accommodate different saddle styles and shapes.
It is designed to be fitted to the stirrup bars, which provide the most robust attachment point.
Correct adjustment is important as excessive strap length may delay airbag inflation.
Helite recommends one saddle strap per saddle, left securely attached and checked regularly for signs of wear. Keep the strap away from sharp or abrasive surfaces that could damage or weaken the material.
Fitting Your Helite Saddle Strap
- Fit the saddle strap to the stirrup bars, ideally at the strongest attachment point
- Adjust the length so the lanyard sits appropriately in relation to your centre of gravity
- When seated, the lanyard should have some slack
- The lanyard should become taut when you stand up
- Check the setup before riding to ensure the strap is correctly adjusted
